Watching Control, the film about Ian Curtis and Joy Division – an amazing film but one that doesn't attempt to make sense of the events it relates – made me feel like listening to... some early Stereolab. It's something to do with the moments in that film where you realise Joy Division made puritan, sublime pop music (at least some of the time), and some excitable part of my brain made the link.
Unfortunately YouTube has a short memory, so the only early Stereolab video I can bring you doesn't exactly fit the point I'm trying to make. If only there was something from Switched On.
